Spring Term 2010
This spring marks the beginning of a new decade. Here in Sweden we are experiencing a whale of a winter with record low temperatures and enough snow to delight all the skiers from north to south of this long country. I love to watch how people behave when nature raises her ferocious head and shows us how little control we have over our lives. Mostly I have observed a deep understanding of why the trains don't run on time when its 25 below or why we can't expect snow free roads with one blizzard after the other. Following an immediate disappointment of not getting somewhere at the planned hour, most of us seem to enjoy this reminder that we are not the choreographers of our lives. This insight seems to facilitate contact and communication between us at the train stations, with our neighbors, and in the streets.
I wish you all a light and fruitful spring and hope to see you before the next winter sets in.
